Our Managing Director, Zelda Coetzee was the previous General Manager of one of South Africa’s leading conference and event management companies and the International Coordinator at the Cape Town Convention Bureau (City of Cape Town). Zelda also serves as the current Chair of the Western Cape branch of the Southern African Association of the Conference Industry (SAACI).
Zelda’s leadership and career highlights include:
- Current Chairperson of the Western Cape branch of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI)
- Author of a case study on the CTICC, published in a tourism handbook: “South African Travel and Tourism Cases” by Richard George and Alf Bennett
- Honoured for outstanding contribution to the Tourism Industry in the Western Cape by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism and the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism in 2004 (Award formed part of the Youth Tourism Indaba held in 2004)
- Part-time lecturer in Conference and Event Management Studies for post-graduate students at University of Cape Town from 2003 – 2009.
Frank Mbete, co-owner and a Director of Imfunzelelo has been operating in the local tourism industry for the last 15 years and specializes in on-site logistics, movement of delegates and tour and travel experiences. Frank is also the owner of a successful tour operating company and is a member of the Tourism Enterprise Partnership’s Western Cape cluster. He has assisted many clients with social responsibility projects, connecting clients with the local communities.
Kim Peters is our Project Manager and joined the Imfunzelelo team after obtaining a Diploma in Event Management from the Cape University of Technology. Kim is exceptionally strong in areas of accommodation management, website and online media, conference administration and on-site management. Kim has an exceptional ability of always staying calm and focused, a perfect combination of skills for managing successful events and conferences.
Cindy Maneuls is the newest member of the Imfunzelelo team. She completed her in service training with us in 2011 and have been promoted to a permanent position as from January 2012. Cindy has a flair for service excellence and organising memorable social events. She is currently working on a short term contract as a hospitality supervisor at the Qatar National Convention centre in Doha.
